COVID-19 UPDATE

A MESSAGE FROM DAVID

Thanks for visiting St James Turramurra online. If this is your first time visiting our website, an especially warm welcome to you. None of us could have anticipated the space and place in which we now find ourselves as a community, nor the considerable extent to which COVID-19 has disrupted our rhythms and patterns of daily life. All of us reading this are facing the very real challenges of isolation and the loss of so many of our freedoms. Though we cannot do church face-to-face, we are continuing to think through and implement ways to connect with one another in helpful ways in our current environment.

Some of you have joined us for an online Sunday service already, and we thank you for your many encouraging messages. Others have been able to bring their small groups to meet through video conferencing. Social media has taken on a new importance as we continue to think through the best ways to do church online in this climate. Many have been looking out for each other through regular phone contact and have had a particular concern for the vulnerable.

At St James we’re committed to sharing the message of hope and comfort in the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our fragile and changing world, he is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and calls us to come to him and trust his promises.

Thank you again for visiting us online. Feel free to contact us through the details below. If you’re a regular, you can get in touch with your pastor or ministry team member at any time.

BIBLE STUDIES

Midweek Bible studies are the lifeblood of our church. Many of our Bible study groups are still operating via video conference due to social distancing requirements.

If you’re already in a Bible study group, contact your group leader for more information. They will let you know if your group is meeting by video conference, and help you navigate the transition.

Not in a Bible study group? Email office@stjames.info and let us know, and we’ll allocate you to a suitable group.

Many groups are utilising a program called Zoom. This software is easy to use and poses no security risks. See the link below for a helpful guide on making a Zoom account and installing the program on your device.
