Sunday Club

Sunday Club aims to teach children the truths of the Christian Faith in the hope that each child will come into relationship with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Children should develop a good foundation in the scriptures, learning about God’s plan to save his people from Sin and re-establish his kingdom. We investigate how God has done this in the past, how we should live now and what the future holds.

Ark
Children who are 2-3 years old have the ability to understand who God is and be friends with him. For these young children, we aim to teach the children about the Character of God. More specifically that God has made everything, he loves everyone, he is kind and we can talk to him.

Munchkins
Children who are 4 years old, up to those who have just started Kindergarten build upon their knowledge of the Character of God. Munchkins look in more detail about the Character of God, remembering that he made everything and he loves everyone. Children are introduced to Jesus, who he is and how he lived. Children are introduced to the bible more formally, starting at Genesis and picking up on the main points of Israel’s history – Abraham, Moses and David. Peter and Paul are also investigated as Men of Faith.

Action Seekers
Children in infants school (Kindergarten to Year 1), look at three broad themes that run through the bible. Firstly, we look at the idea of God’s promises, starting from Abraham and culminating in God’s promised son – Jesus. Secondly, God’s Kingship is investigated through Kings in the Old Testament, such as King David and finally looking at Jesus’ Kingship. Finally, Action Seekers look at God’s Salvation throughout history – his salvation of Paul, Elijah, and ultimately Israel and us. We end this year with looking at how we should live, given that we have been saved by God.

Investigators
Children from Year 3 – Year 5 is a more relaxed and casual environment that encourages the children to take the word of God seriously. There is a stylistic theme is chosen to complement the biblical theme to teach children, for example, each year we look at something from the old testament, something from the new testament, a person and learn about how we should live. By the end of Year 5, children should have a firm foundation of biblical stories, which are important to bring them to a faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Also, they will have learnt how we should live as Christians in the world.
