Current MTSF Scholars (2016)

Ed Hungerford - Trainee Minister and Studying at Moore College (4th Year)

“After having completed the first year course at Moore College over a number of years on a part time basis, in 2015 I enrolled for full-time study. In 2017 I am undertaking the 4th year subjects, while continuning to minister to the SNC congregation at St James. Steph and I are extremely grateful for the generosity of the St James family through the MTSF. This generosity has enabled us to continue growing, learning and ministering here in Turramurra, whilst studying, with our focus now at Sunday Night Church.”

Grant van der Merwe - Student Minister and Studying at Moore College (1st Year)

"In 2017 I will again lead the Revolution ministry, which is the Sunday morning program run at St James for years 6-8, as well as continuing to grow and to serve in the music ministry at Elevate and SNC. While studying at Moore College I am extremely thankful for those who generously donate to the MTSF as I would not be able to serve or be trained in this capacity without that support. I am incredibly excited for the coming year and cannot wait to see what God does in our church."

Dan Sawyer - Ministry Trainee and Studying at Moore College (1st Year)

Bruce Pass - Doctoral Studies at the University of Edinburgh

After four years of ministry at Warrawee Anglican, MTSF is enabling me to write a PhD in systematic theology at New College, the University of Edinburgh. I will be researching the way the theologian Herman Bavinck (1854-1921) related the way we acquire knowledge of God to the way we acquire knowledge in general, an area of inquiry which broadly concerns the relationship between revelation and reason. I am deeply grateful for the support of the MTSF, without which this further study would not be possible. It is a privilege and blessing to be supported by St James community and I pray that the MTSF will long continue to equip God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Ephesians 4:12).
